I don't want to make it a cultural or racial thing, but every since I moved into a particular neighborhood, I noticed that a certain culture of people (Middle Eastern) watch every move I make.
Is this a cultural thing that maybe I am taking out of context? Perhaps someone Middle Eastern can enlighten me; i'm open minded enough to try to rationalize the behavior as a strong interest in neighbor....but really.... It just bothers me that if i open my window, someone is staring at me..or if i am sitting in my car, someone walks up to the window to see what I am doing.

I'm not middle-eastern but having lived there for four years I can tell you what its like. Its a pretty normal thing actually. I.E If a new kid from japan etc. moved in your neighborhood you would stare at her alot because that person would look,dress or talk different. R you megan????????????

I think it may be a cultural thing, they are probably very paranoid right now living in the United States with everything that is going on. Have you tried to address the issue in a calm manner and just simply ask, why do you do that and explain what it is they are doing. Perhaps they don't realize that it is bothering you and it is just part of who they are. Good luck

That's a tough question, some people are nosy because they just want to know whats going on so they can have something to gossip about, other people are nosy because they might be scared of you or think you are a trouble maker, others are just nosy because they have nothing else better to do. Or they could be fascinated with your culture and are just studying it. Who knows.

You are now on the other end of what minorities have been dealing with for years. You are different to the neigborhood, and they just want to keep an eye on you to see what you're like. It could also be that for some of them, you are the first chance they've really had to observe your ethnic group up close and personal.
It will die down, don't worry.

they actually walk up to your car window to see what your doing?...wow i think i would tell them to get the hell away from my car before i punch em in the nose...thats so rude!...i have never noticed a certain group of people being nosier than the other but i have never had any one just walk up to my car & look in either thats just creepy!....i wish you would have said where you live!
