Silly Jane! You forgot. They are only against taxing the wealthy. The unlucky poor sob's get to make up the rest.

Republicans are in favor of low taxes across the economic spectrum. The argument that the working poor should not pay taxes is flawed because when you remove a segment of society from an obligation everyone else has, you create a special class. That is why most in the GOP favor flat taxes rather than graduated taxation. Graduated taxation doesn't penalize those who are already rich anyway, it penalizes people who are attempting to get rich.
I have problems with any person or group receiving a special exemption from the obligations of a citizen anyway. It creates artificial class tensions that the class/race baiters in this nation play off of for power.

IMHO.. Everyone who makes over the amount of 20K per year should be taxed EQUALLY in terms of percentage.... but that is my view, and not a view that most libs, who want a handout, share
The "working poor" are taxed, but not at the rate that the middle and upper classes are.
What most conservatives are against are extraordinarily high taxes that feed into a bureaucratic system of wealth redistribution, useless social programs, and welfare handouts

Try defining the "working poor". No one else has been able to.
I have voted Republican since I was 18, I work for a living and I am middle class not rich. Since the "poor" as you put it use more Taxpayer provided services than anyone else it's only fair that they contribute to the budget unless of course you believe they have the right to services without paying for them.

hey now, they aren't against taxing the poor or middle class. They are against taxing the rich. THOSE people should get to keep their money, since they earned it!

you do no longer could desire to get puzzled. do exactly the mathematics. on your occasion, somebody earning 30K and paying 5K in taxes is costing the government $25K. So that's the $25K the government has to conceal from another source.
