silt, sand and whatever we drop down there.

Much of the worlds ocean bottoms are covered in a thick(ish) layer of sediment; whatever rivers put into the sea must go down, as the water can rarely hold it in suspension for long.

Unfortunently we dump masses of plastics and waste into the sea which also drop down there. when anything dies the sea it falls to bottom and is either eatern en route or eatern when it gets to the bottom, supporting a rich animal community.

Near to 'black smockers' whole ecosystems exist under chemicosyntheses; using sulphur pumped out by these amazing formations for thier respiration, they lvie entirely away from the sun; and could be were life originated.

hope this helps

All kinds of stuff-lots of sunglasses ;)
Seriously, it depends on where you are. There are all kinds of weird fish, some that were thought to be extinct, and bacteria. It was previously thought that there was no life that could survive past a certain deprth due to temperature, lack of sunlight, etc. However exploration has shown that to be absolutely untrue. If you want to know more, you should do a little bit of looking around at biology web sites or maybe the search for Cousteau.

The ocean bottom.

Depends on where in the world you are. Could be sand, could be mud, could be a volcano or basalts.
