If I went and posted my honest, uncensored opinion about those.....Westboro Baptist Church....turkeys....., Yahoo Action Team would have adequate grounds to ban me for life!
If Fred Phelps and his cultists show up in PA, they're probably going to be outnumbered 20 to 1 (if not more!) by peaceful grievers who are outraged by their antics and who are massing to support the Amish community.
IIRC, when Westboro (and it's a splinter group, not affiliated with ANY mainline Baptist group) has shown up at soldier funerals, they've been outnumbered bigtime....
As a Pagan, I've gotta feel sorry for you folks that are mainline Christians of good will and spirit, having a $#^@& like Phelps and his lunatics running around. GOT to be embarrassing.....
Fortunately, the Amish are a close-knit and supportive community, and I hope their faith in the Eternal of their understanding will help everyone to get through this agony.

I have not heard about this. Why on earth would supposed christians picket other christian's funerals??
If this is true, this is the worst thing I have ever heard. I wanted to take flowers down there for the families his weekend. If I see anyone picketing the poor families, I will absolutely loose it. I will help move them away from the true christian people.

Gosh, I didn't even know that was happening, thanks for the info. I think it is appalling to say the least, and it is very hateful. Those people need to leave the Amish alone to mourn and have their proper funerals. Like they need more of our modern world intruding in their lives!
Those people that are picketing, is that the same group that goes to the deceased soldiers funerals and does that??
Those people are not Christian.

Church? Doesn't the very word connote or depict some form of spirituality? This supposedly Christian "church" certainly doesn't promote empathy and sympathy, but rather separation and hatred.
What has religion to do with it anyway? Those girls were killed by a demented, depraved and evil person.

Terrible. The Amish are a private group, they sure don't need all this attention.I think the people of this "church" are very sick.To target families that have just lost their precious children...it really makes me angry.

Never a crazed gunman around when one is really needed.
Phelps weird little church is a flash in the pan that will likely not survive his death. They sum up everything I find loathesome about american christianity, they are a bunch of shallow hatemongering elitists who think that acting on their low selfish natures makes them morally superior.

I have not heard about this but I think if it is not thier funeral and they are not there out of support, they need to just stay away!
The loss these people have had does not need more grief from a group of ignorant people.

Are you SERIOUS?? I didn't hear about this! That is the most disgusting behaviour I have ever heard! These were innocent children. If you don't share their religion, DON'T GO!! No one asked them to go anyway, its not like its a "mandatory funeral"!
ERRR, you are right, it does raise your blood pressure!

Picketing,or protesting at any funeral is moronic behavior in my opinion..
I don't care what their issues are, funerals of any kind are not the place for such events..
