I not sure on that. What I have always tried, with much opposition, is to not use a "Curve" on tests. Then I use a point system that a Student can obtain extra points by doing certain extras for the point system. Say for example we teach "World Literature", a student could do a "Research Paper" 2-3 pages on a certain work or author and obtain 5 points added to their final Grade, so, say they have a 59 that give them a 64. Then other smaller projects that may bring 2-3 points, like read a book and on an index card give the book name, author, publisher and date. Then just write a brief comment of the book, what it was about and what the student may have enjoyed about the book. You can have an x amount of points the students can achieve, like 15 for the Semester. So, a student with a 50 can end the Semester with a 65 and get by. I like this approach better than using curves because it does not make a high achieving student feel intimidated to do bad to help the curve and it encourages those that are less capable to do better. If, you understand what I say. But, here in America the main focus is to pass the Student regardless, so the school looks good and receives Government Funding without regard to helping a Student actually learn. That why we see so many Students on here getting their Homework done for them. But, this just my opinion that I know will work and every student has a sense of real accomplishment and self worth/work.

If your school or public library has subscription databases like Ebsco, Proquest, Wilson, etc., you can probably find it there.
