i don't want to waste money and be totally upset with another negetive result. I have polycystic ovary syndrum. the last year or so i have had my periods at the end of every month, but still can't get pregnant on my own. when i am 2 weeks late i take a test only to get my period a few days later. this time is a little different though...my friend was cooking and the smell of garlic made me want to get sick and her 1 year old is teething and drooling and the thought of her drool dripping down on my arm made me want to get sick. these are things that have never bothered me before and the day before that i was watching a comedy and crying my eyes out. my question is should i wait longer to test, i am anywhere from a week to two weeks late, at least a week. i just can't stand the dissapointment.

Either go to the dollar tree and get a test or use the Answer Brand. I know it's hard and the disappointment is very difficult, but one day you'll see those two pink lines, until then you just have to keep your faith up and stay hopeful.

If your periods are showing up 2 weeks late, then its caused from the stress of you trying to get pregnant. Your mind is trying to convince you that you are when you're not and you will have physical symptoms of pregnancy even when you aren't pregnant. I went through the same thing for 8 years, trust me. I would just wait another week and see what happens. In the future, and I know this is VERY hard to do, but try not to think about it at all. Don't count down til your period is due, just try focusing your thoughts and energies are a new project or something so when you do become pregnant it will be a pleasant suprise.

well if you want a quick answer, get a hpt that has 2 or 3 tests in it and take one and whether it is negative or positive keep the other test (s) aside for a later time. It is common for some pregnant women to be sick or feel sick when smelling certain types of food. I have a friend that was always sick at the sight or smell of hamburger meat. I suggest that you go ahead and take one test and wait a week or so and if you havent started your period by then and regardless if the other test was neg, go ahead and take another just to be sure. You could just be getting sick. but I wish you luck. :) It sounds like you really want a baby and I pray that you are blessed.

I think that when you're pregnant, you just know. You may say you aren't sure to other people... But you know. I would take a test. If you stress too much about it, and you are pregnant, it could cause problems. If you stress and you aren't pregnant, it'll just delay your period. If you're concerned about the price of the test, there are always pregnancy centers that do the test for free. Or you can go to planned parenthood and its around $10. Still alot less expensive than some of the kits you buy in a store. Good luck!

There is no such thing as a waste of money when it comes to finding out if you are pregnant or not -- I have looked up things on here about HPTs and what I have got so far, a good test to good is Equate -- altho it is a store brand, it is very accurate and beings the dye is pink rather than blue, there r greater chances for not having a false reading.

Go do your local dollar store (Family Dollar, Dollar General, etc.) and buy a test there. I bought mine for $2 a piece and they confirmed both of my pregnancies. I know this won't help with the mental anguish if the test comes back negative, but at least you won't be out $15!

You should call your OB/GYN and get a blood test. Hopefully it comes back positive, if not (I know that disappointment is hard), they can start running tests to find out what is causing the missing/late periods (if not caused by the poly-cystic ovary syndrome).

Best wishes and good luck.

If you aren't sure why don't you call your ob/gyn and ask if they think you should get a home test or maybe go have them test you in the office. You could also go to Planned Parenthood or some other place where they do free pregnancy tests.
