The long-standing advice still applies of no more than 400 - 450 mg of caffeine per day.
Tea contains 20-35mg per cup.

I believe caffeine consumption is determined by each individual. My brother can drink caffeine all day long with no problems. I can drink one glass of caffeine tea, cola, etc. and be up all night. When making tea at home, I make naturally decaffeinated tea so I can enjoy as much as I want, get the antioxidant health benefit, and still get to sleep at night.

Green tea is good for you. You shouldn't drink it late in the day, or evening. Tea has more caffeine than coffee. I drink dandelion tea. It has no caffeine and it's full of nutrients. You can buy it at any health food store, and it tastes good. Also there are many kinds of tea with more and or less caffeine.

hard to believe you can get too much caffeine from tea. I drink about 3-4 cups of tea a day, plus a cup of coffee and it hasn't affected me. if you are very young it might stunt your growth and that's why we don't give caffeine to children.
caffeine does have some side effects, can be addictive and cause jitteriness and heart palpitations. if your hands start shaking too much it might be time to cut back, especially if you are a brain surgeon :-)
