VIN number........ take it to the VW dealership... they should be able to tell you

The color code for most autos is in the VIN number. The VIN number should be located on the driver's side of the car, on the dash, at the closest point you can get to the windshield.
Write down the VIN number, and then go to the VW site and look up the color code associated with that VIN.

It is very common to find the color code or official name of the color somewhere under the hood. Likely on the inside of the fender at the wheel wells or the strut towers. I know this is the case on bmw's and very likely to be similar on a VW

WRITE DOWN THE VIN NUMBER FIRST (MAY BE DRIVER'S SIDE LOWER CORNER OF THE WINDSHIELD
THEN OPEN THE HOOD AND LOOK FOR A BOBY TAG (USUALLY ON FIREWALL)
CALL THE LOCAL DEALER WITH THE INFO FROM THESE TAGS AND THEY WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH THE INFO NEEDED

i believe this is found on the inside of the drivers side door. there is a lable on it
