You have to spend the rest of your life with the person you marry. Don't you want to be happy? You will really resent your family if you marry for them. Marriage should be a personal decision. Your family will have to live with your decision if they truly love you.

You should marry someone that you love and can carve a good life with....this does not mean getting who or what you want. Life does not work in that manner. "Buttttttttt, I loves her or him" is not the grounds for a good union.
Marriage is a contract...it exceeds boundaries of lust and want. Prearranged marriages actually exceed expectations because it eliminates self.
I urge you to make an intelligent choice based not only on your own wants but the goal of establishing and continuing the purpose of family. Sometimes you can have it all. Good luck!

Is this a cultural thing and an arranged marriage?
Don't get married for a year. Get to know both people.
I married my first wife because I thought I loved her. My family hated her. After a couple years, so did I.
Obviously, I was blind to her most obvious and glaring faults, which were apparent to everybody else.

sometimes when we are in love we don't care what is going on around us and we just want to do what we think is best but without your parents advice things dont always work out since they are experienced and know what life is all about...maybe they are seeing trouble down the road after all love is blind...i believe that you always have a wonderful life when your marriage is blessed by your parents ....you should give it some thought and see if this person is right for u

You should always marry the person that you love.. You need to go with your heart and what makes you happy.... If you settle for anything less, you will just end up being miserable and having too many problems in your marriage....
Remember your family is not the one who has to sleep and live with your husband. You do.....

According to me it wud be the one you love. How can you ever think about betraying a person whom you love listening to your family words. If you were a person who wud go by your familys word then you must and shouldn't have been falledn into love or any kind of relationship . Now you are just spoiling another persons life. Get married to the person whom you love to whom you have promised to get married . afterall it is your family you can make them understand...

marry according to ur family .it is a union of two families.the relationship between that two families is the most important than any other relationship.even in many cases it fails, stil u r lucky if u have a two family like that.

a person can not live on love alone. you have to look into your future and see who best fits into your future.... you must also take into consideration your relationship with your family and how important is for you that they accept the man you love.
If they can not comes to terms with it, holidays will be a drag for you... some parents just wont come around... and my mother is one of them....
I was engaged to a man she hated... she made his life a living hell...she would not stop unill he finally had enough.... now she throw in my face, gee i knew he wouldnt stick around...
but hell if I was treated the way my mother treated him, I would not stick around either.....
some of the things my mother did to him, makes her sound physco......
I guess it all depends if you charrish your family and want peace....
but look at it this way....you wont be alone no matter what you choose.....
