It's really a matter of personal preference, but I can't say that I've ever heard of a woman wearing her panties outside her hose. That sounds dumb to me.
My rule:
If the hose has a cotton crotch, then I don't need to wear underwear. If they don't, then I need the underwear under the hose. The reason for this is simple with women, the cotton absorbs the moisture and keeps our bodies clean and dry.

This is a matter of personal comfort. I can tell you, as a woman that i wear underwear under the pantyhose because underwear keeps you feeling fresher, instead of perspiring through the pantyhose and perhaps not being so fresh after several hours.
But, I'm not sure that would be an issue for a man. Try wearing underwear under them - see if it feels comfortable to you - i think it will - but if it doesn't, don't wear the underwear at all - its pure and simple personal choice. Besides, nobody is gonna know what you have on anyway, right? The more comfortable you feel, the happier and nicer a person you'll be, and the better a day you will have - isn't that the most important thing anyway??

Tony, i am a guy who wears pantyhose for support and comfort and look. I recommend no underwear if they have a cotton crotch. It's much cooler like that. Before i wore pantyhose i would breakout in a heat rash during the summer months at my job. I wear support pantyhose 99% of the time and my legs feel and look a lot better than without. Always buy pantyhose a little bigger if the size down feels over tight. I like Hanes Alive,Leggs Sheer Energy and Just My Size Light Support. I shave my legs wear them with shorts a lot and most people don't notice or if they do are too polite to say anything.

hummm- I wear underwear under mine. I have seen women who wear under and over- more like a girdle over to suck in the stomach and add support. You know that they do make a support sock for guys with "leg issues"- mostly circulatory/diabetic correct? They come up to your knees and then you can also wear like a spandex short to help with your thigh area. Leaving more flexibility and less "riding" or "falling" of the pantyhose and it is a little more "breathable". I would say do whatever you feel comfortable with. BTW- the socks actually add more support than pantyhose in the long run. You could see an orthopedic doctor- which you probably already are. Good luck and I hope you get relief.

Most women wear them under their hose. The crotch only falls if they are cheap or too small. For a man, I would go with under the hose. I would think it would otherwise they might cut into your privates a bit.
I have another option for you. Why not try thigh highs? They only come up to the top of your thigh. They have an elastic band at the top to keep them up. That way you get all hose and no crotch.

No underwear. When choosing what to wear, your comfort is the most important part. I mean, you are wearing pantyhose to be comfortable right? Don't wear underwear if it makes you uncomfortable. I go commando during the summer, I wear boxers more during the winter to stay warm.

most women wear underwear under the pantyhose, you might try boxer briefs to give a little air. but if that doesn't work, going without underwear is fine. props to you to be able to wear pantyhose under shorts and be a guy wearing pantyhose and be comfterable. :)

I wear my underwear under my panty hose... I put on my underwear first then put the panty hose on top... I think most women do this b/c as a woman you wouldn't want juices flowing down your leg or start your monthly cycle or something... to me its just nasty not to wear underwear
