For some reason this was NOT a stupid question when it was in my head. I was thinking about how technology inspires more ideas and vice versa. But thanks everyone for pointing out to me the stupidness of it now.

whats an idea without the technology to bring the idea into reality

Whether the idea relates to the technology or not, someone had to think about "putting things together" in a particular way; i.e.: having an "Idea" they were testing. The "Technology" may not have matched the idea and hence took them off in another direction, but the/an IDEA obviously came first.

DUH!, the aliens provided the technology and we got the ideas from it, just after they beamed down the chicken that laid the egg, don't you know anything?
