I say collect ,"rocks".
Not just rocks, but semi-precious stones.
I do not know if you like the outdoors though, so you may have to be an, "online rockhound", ofcourse, then you have to pay for your treasures...
I have been ,"suffering", for pretty much my whole life as a ,"Rockhound".
Oh I LOVE it!!!
It is like searching for ,"Treasure", for me, plus the fact that I get out into the ,"wilderness", whether the ,"mountains, ocean, desert", There is almost always ,"treasure", surrounding you.
Yup, ROCKHOUNDING...
Oh, after you have been at it for several years, your," friends and family", tend to NOT, to want to help you MOVE...
I live in the ,"Pacific Northwest", more specifically,"Washington State" on the WEST side of the CASCADES.
Snoqualmie Pass, just below the summit a ways, has offered me 100's of hours,"digging in the dirt", or just searching on the surface; finding literally THOUSANDS of ,"Quartz Crystals".
Crystals come in many shapes and sizes...
And they have many names for each individual type...
Yup ROCKHOUNDING!
This year, just after the snow melted, I found a single amethyst(purple) crystal, about 2 1/2 inches long, and just as fat!
My largest one to date.
I have so many ,"Quartz Crystals", now...One of my favorite thing to do with my ,"precious treasures", is to "give them away" to others who appreciate their beauty, and love them almost as much as I do.
Well now that you got a "book / Biography" from me on the subject...Best of luck to you.
By the way, where do you live, that would help...
Northern "Nevada", for example, has ,"semi- precious, to precious", "black fire opals", they are worth a lot of money, at least the ,"gemstone quality".
15 miles EAST, I believe, of," Charlotte, North Carolina", is a place called ,"Hiddenite", named after the person who discovered and named a new MINERAL, (HIDDENITE) I guess, which is also associated with,"EMERALDS".
Well, I hope you have fun with whatever new hobby you decide on.
