We get the short straw because we are letting it happen! We sit back in our cosy little houses and say and do ..................nothing!!! The whole country has become complacent, can't be bothered to fight for our rights!!Just look at some of the responses you are getting, that should tell you something! Unless we, the people, start fighting back, things will only get worse. You have a golden opportunity to do something about it!

Schools are closing due to falling numbers of children. What the reason was for this particular one closing was I don't know but as a general trend the numbers of schools needed is going down.
The money to build a mosque would come from a different budget so the two things are unconnected. Its not like the government decided to give the cash to the mosque rather than the school.
Without being party to either decision is impossible to know why each was made.

you should get all the parents from the school to protest outside 10 downing street with all the teachers and the kids, get the media involved and make your point that way, That's what other minorities do when they want their own way.
I know how you feel, I live in area where 2 primary schools have closed down in the last 5 years and there is a huge new mosque which has taken about 5 years to build and god knows how many millions!!!!!
It makes me feel like a second class citizen sometimes. The best of it is, Christians don't get funding to build new churches!!!

You must make sure that your facts are correct before complaining, schools don't usually close because of a lack of funds, but, do close due to a lack of pupils. I would imagine that the Mosque is getting a grant from the lottery or some local grant.Being a white male is not easy these days I agree but shout loud enough and some one usually hears.

Because THEY rule this country now and you have no say, unfortunately. Try going to their shabby country and demand that they build a C ov E church with a money that they would have spent on something like a local hospital or school. You'd be chased and stoned to death by the locals for even thinking like that. In their country you are nothing but a dirty, filthy scum but here they are treated like royalty! Why don't they invest money into other minorities who never cause any problems? How about the Jews? You never hear of money being spent on a new Jewish community centre or something like that. Because they don't need handouts, just like other minorities. But then again, they never cause any trouble either.

I tend to agree with your question but as long as we put up with this and let the do gooders run the country we will be second class citizens in our own country that our forebears fought to keep democratic.
The trouble with the law is its geared for the immigrants and not the blood English so we get the short end of the stick.
and lets face it most of the country is now owned by immigrants with 10 or 12 houses and shops each.
so i cant find a reason not to let them have a mosque or two.
in fact we need a immigrant for prime minister and chancellor, it will happen so do what i did if your not happy emigrate .
Stop moaning you cant change anything unless you change the laws to protect the white and black born English.

WOW, the first answer by Emily tells me she didn't read the question or she is a true blond! I did not know the republican party had anything to do with England?

All over the world there seems to be a problem with priorities! If we all got our priorities straight we would be much better off.

In the USA we have many school problems most with under funding! My wife and I choose to teach our children at home. I know that option is not for everyone but it works great for our family!

It's not a bad idea for you to go back to school yourself:
"...but it was closed due to the lack of goverNment money!!! now we hEAR the goverNment have put a big sUM oF money up to help build a mosque!!!!"
Other than that you do have a point, I agree.

There should be no government money going to support the building of religious buildings of ANY faith. Let those who believe provide the funds.

As for the closing of a school... it happens. There are fewer children than there were 20 years ago, something's got to give.

Because we let it happen. The people have nobody to blame but themselves. The government will always make allowances in funding for ethnic minorities and until the man in the street starts making waves and there is an uprising. It will continue to happen. They only take note when we're on the street protesting over something that upsets all of us (best example - The Poll Tax Riots) and we cause an uproar. All the time we're happy to sit in the comfort of our homes they will walk all over us.
