I am getting married in October 2007 and I am trying to figure out what colors the bridesmaid dresses should be.

You can match anything that has the same undertones!

for example: if its a blue burgundy (which most are) you could match a blue-pink..... but you cannot match an orangey pink.

If you go to home depot, find a paint sample that matches your burgundy... the lighter paint chips on the same card will all match (if you wanted to stay in the same family)

This could be hard! But I would suggest avoiding all greens, as they imply over X-massy theme. Try white or ivory accents to the Burgundy dresses, especially if your dress has Burgundy accents. This is a cute way to incorporate an old tradition.
It was once said that all bridesmaids and brides dressed similarly (before the obvious wedding gown, when women just wore their best) to confuse evil sprirts trying to turn the brides heart, or just ruin the day.

Hope I helped!

If you look at a color wheel, opposite burgundy is green. Since your wedding is in October and not at Christmas, I would not suggest a dark green. How about a nice sage color? The three colors, burgundy, sage and gold look beautiful together, and so nice for fall.

(Actually, those are the colors in my dining room, a mahogany table, and parson's chairs upholstered in a sage, taupe and burgundy paisley.)

Certain shades of green goes well with burgundy, so does black and some yellows. The shop you buy the dresses from would be able to give you ideas as well.

Silver goes very nicely. A rusted red collor looks good as well. Pink might look good, depending on the shade. White will look good with anything, although you may want to be the only one wearing it. Certain greens might be made to look good, but it might also look like Christmas.

Forest green. Silver. Gray.

Or get some input from your bridesmaids. After all, they'll be the ones wearing and paying for the dresses.

Black, grey(silver), or cream. Go to your local hardware store and ask to see a color wheel. You would be amazed all the complimentary colors to choose from. Congrats and Good Luck!

navy blue, burgandy and silver were my wedding colors. You could also go with hunter green. All rich colors go with burgandy.

Navy blue, cream, and a deep forest green would all work, either together or alone.
