If one group copies another group's style, and blacks have initiated a lot of style, it is insulting to not give credit to them. It's copying.

Well let me tell you no one cares about the earring. I don't know what a fade haircut is...It's the oversize baggy jeans that make a person look sloppy. Like a little boy wearing his daddy's jeans. Only it isn't cute, it looks ignorant. Why wear jeans too big for you as they cause you to walk like you have poop in your pants. Always having to pull them up. What is up with that? Why? You can't walk normal, you sure can't run correctly. They are a hazard.
It looks like a person's mind isn't all there. Do you want to look like a thug or gangster or just plain goofy? All people who dress in those baggy pants are viewed in the same way.
Yes, a "look" can be the same thing as ethnicity. How else do you know they are different to you? It is by the way they not only look, but behave.
All races of color other than the "whites" want to be called by their specific ethnicity. The whites are lumped into one, tho we are from many different ethnic backgrounds we became one as an American. We didn't see the need to be seen as separate. But I see the need today. I am not "white." Since all the people of "color" are to be labeled correctly it is time the "whites" are treated the same.
I am an "Irish,Welsh,German,Cherokee, Black Dutch American." And wish to be referred to as so.

It has nothing to do with ethnicity. It has EVERYTHING to do with attitude. People who dress like gangsta thugs usually talk and act like gangsta thugs too, which means they have no respect for the law, no respect for authority, no respect for women; heck, no respect for anything (including themselves). What makes it worse is the fact that the vast majority of whites that embrace that look don't live anywhere near the 'hood, so they're basically gangsta wannabes. It's understandable to a certain degree for an African American or a Hispanic person who lives in the suburbs to embrace that type of look since that's a common culture among African Americans and Hispanics, but it's very hard to understand how white suburban teenagers could find anything appealing about that look of that way of life.
Personally, I react negatively to just about everyone I see who dresses urban, regardless of race, because of their disrespectful attitude. I have yet to meet anyone who wore the ball cap on sideways (which is STUPID as hell), the diamond stud, and the jeans you could park an M-1 tank in that wasn't an arrogant, obnoxious delinquent.

I don't think that way, you are who you are, and you like what you like. Now, if you are doing it solely for the purpose of trying to be like somebody else, then yeah, you need to stop. But I've known people all my life who grew up in different neighborhoods and different tastes. You are who you are, don't worry about other people. Tell 'em, don't hate, appreciate :)
And to the person above me, get a life. I doubt you've met very many "urban dressers" I wear my cap backwards or sideways, and I also wear baggy jeans, and I have yet to disrespect anybody. I go to school, I have a job-where I've never received a write up in either place.
Don't be so quick to judge somebody, simply by the way that they dress.

The same reason a black man would be looked at oddly if he were wearing a kilt and playing a bagpipe. Some people "expect" certain things from certain races. Personally, I do not - one of the finest bluegrass guitar pickers I ever met was a black man with dreadlocks.

You still have ALOT of racism in this country, no matter how excepted one race is or not. Alot of people feel that if you are a color then you act and dress.. your color. I personally don't like that look on White's, Latino's, or Black's, I think it makes a person look cheap and look like they are nothing but trouble. And usually, that is correct..............they are cheap, they are bad news as in they have real mental and emotional issues, and they are NOTHING but TROUBLE. That is why people act this way. If you don't want to be seen as a PUNK, or as TROUBLE, and you want a GOOD woman in your life that only wants to love YOU for YOU, then I suggest you drop the physical appearance and just be a GOOD YOU. Blessed be..........

It is just sad to see middle class white kids acting ghetto and listening to crap music. The fact is, they are lost because they have no sense of identity whatsoever. This all stems from negative media toward white males. We are not allowed to be acknowledge collectively for anything unless it is to show us to be oppressors of others. You will never hear about all the great deads that white males have done to improve society. Especially the vast amounts of technology that affect our everyday lives like cars, radio, television, electricity, computers, aircraft etc. It's truly a shame that these individuals are not allowed to be proud of their heritage like every other ethnic group.
