Well, I suspect the doctor would be confused. You bring your child to him with a problem and then refuse to do what he suggests....he would wonder why you bothered to consult him in the first place.

Just because there may not be blood in her stool at this time, doesn't mean that the problem is gone.

I agree with the others. If I were the pediatrician, I would be concerned as to why you would refuse the test for your baby. If they said she needed it, she did. This is why we have doctors and nurses, to make those decisions and recommend tests.
Take her to the doctors and let them test her stool......if she still has blood, then take her for the test.

It is your God-given right to do as you please when you ask a doctor or anyone for their advice. However in light of "blood" in the stool, be careful. If you are unsure of what this one doctor has suggested, then get a second or even third opinion. Blood is a serious problem and you shouldn't delay checking out this matter. You can't replace your child so do whatever you need to have done, but do check on this immediately. Remember this, "If God be for us, who can be against us." - Romans 8:31. "The Lord daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation." Selah. - Psalm 68:19. Peace and God Bless.

well because blood in the stool, is never a good sign, maybe it went away, but there could be an underlying cause, it could come back just as easy, why would you not want to have one done if there was a chance to catch something earlier than later, its better to be safe than sorry. face it they are doctors, they probably see this often, hence the look, they are probably invisioning the "i told you so" down the road. if youve got insurance whats the big deal. and ok so if you dont have insurance, isnt your baby worth the world to you, no amount of money would stop me, its for her benefit, not yours.

I know what you mean. Sometimes they just don't understand that those tests can really screw someones budget, even with health insurance. I mean, they are doctors, they have the money to pay for those tests for their children, so I don't think that they really THINK as a regular person. I guess they just get confused about why you won't do it. I have learned to tell the doc, sorry, can't afford it. He is a cool doctor. He makes it easy for us too. He gives us samples of medication so that we don't have to spend hundreds of dollars for the prescription. He also gives us alternatives to some of the more exspensive tests.

It probably wouldn't have hurt for her to have one...and if the blood was not from external sources, I would have done the test, just to be sure it wasn't anything internal ( so they could catch it if something was wrong) Just because she is not bleeding NOW doesn't mean nothing is wrong....These are sometimes signs God gives us so things can be taken care of. Your doctor probably thought it was weird that you didn't want the test to make SURE all was OK......!!!

Doctors don't like their authority questioned. I questioned my mom's doctors a couple of times recently and they seemed to get a little irked. Also they may be doing unnecessary tests for the $$$.

Doctors are a little put off by refusal because they are used to people complying with everything they ask.

Because they wonder why you wouldn't do it.
