Lame excuses are what we get from liberals as excuses for perverted behavior every single day. Perverts, killers and terrorists need to be eliminated, not imprisoned.

If excuses like these are what we get from liberals trying to dismiss sick behavior, why then are the Republicans saying part of the reason Foley sent sexually explict messages to teens was alcohol and having been molested by a priest as a kid?
Yeah, things can happen in childhood that can screw a person up forever but some folks managed to find the inner strenghth (not necessarily religion) to move past the horrible stuff and become responsible adults.
We cannot blame the past for what we are now, we can learn from the past to live more correctly and strive to do what is correct.

Yes I am. I think you're right. I don't think everyone has had a rough childhood though. Most people I talk to have happy childhood memories. I'm the only person I know who don't. I often times sing the "poor me" song but I've never brought harm to anyone else. Some situations, I can see as being the cause of misbehavior. But more often than not, people do give lame excuses as to why they are the way they are or why they do the things they do. There should be appropriate punishment for the crime but I do think life experiences, should be taken into account.

I ditto that. Every time somebody kills, abuses, molests, etc they always try to use the "I was abused as a child" routine to get the courts to be lenient. Well, I know that *sometimes* the abused can be psychologically messed up for life, but not all. I've known plenty of kids who were abused, unfortunately, and most of them learned from that, how to act as a grownup. And how they would want other people to treat them is how they will treat others.
It doesn't matter who you are...or what your social status! Don't blame your idiocy and criminal tendencies on others, when you choose what you do in your own life.
I think everyone just needs to get a grip!

Let's see : I was molested as a child for a period of 2 years. I have never :
a) shot a child or anyone else.
b) made any sexual advance on a child.
c) abused my own child.
Now am I abnormal for seeking treatment to deal with these issues ?
I am sick of the rotten childhood defense. If you need help get it.

Lets put it this way..... not every body that had a bad childhood shot people or molested others etc.
its what you make out of your life that counts.
Not everybody who had a bad childhood goes around and shouts people etc.
The people who done it make the choice to do so.
So yes i`m tired of excuses too.
If it would be my sons or daughters killed in school i would`nt wanna hear no excuse about no bad childhood, what about that dead child and their family's and friends childhood?

Gee, and you haven't noticed that the world and especially the U. S. is in a tailspin, it has been for at least 6 years and probably if you look back most of it started during the Reagan years.

Yes. Everyone is responsible for their own actions. I know victims who live perfectly normal and moral lives.
You can thank the religion of psychology for the acceptance of excuses by the majority of people.
