Ridley Creek State Park.
Ridley Creek State Park encompasses over 2,606 acres of Delaware County woodlands and meadows. The gently rolling terrain of the park, bisected by Ridley Creek, is only 16 miles from center city Philadelphia.

It's a really beautiful weekend getaway spot....I guarantee!

As a Villanovan, Exton is quite georgeous, but depending on how far away you want to be, the Poconos can't be beat to be *away* away. Otherwise, Valley Forge National Park in (naturally) Valley Forge, or the Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum (just south of Philly Airport off I-95) can be good. And as another poster said, Delaware Water Gap is nature at its finest-- even better than Washington's Crossing, which is just south of there.

Try the Dealware River Water Gap. It's literally the easternmost point of I-80 in PA (the bridge crosses the river into NJ there). It's a beautiful area with a ton of camping and lodging. The river is clean--almost spring-like--up there and the valleys are covered in trees. There must be some sort of sight-seeing tour for the changing of the leaves...it'd be a terrible waste not to.

Stroudsburg Area...near the Delaware Water Gap. For more comfortable surroundings go as close as Lambertville, New Hope Area. You can canoe, kayak, camp, bike, etc....But you can still go to a five star restaurant for dinner & stay in a beautiful B&B
