Is is it an urban myth? I my youth I heard that you could put a straw up a frogs bum and blow it up like a balloon, a bit like the scene in Shrek

Are some of you lot a thich a sh1t? Read the f'in question! I did not say I was going to actually do it, I asked whether it was true! Just out of spite now I'm going to kick my dog around the room for a bit. I blame all you 'animal lovers'!

Years ago a young lad told me that he used to stick a straw up a frogs bum and blow it up until it burst. He said it made such a mess as it splattered all over his face that when ever he did it again he would put a plastic bag over his head for protection with a small hole for the straw.
Years later I told this story to a woman who said that's nothing, when she was a little girl she used to blow the frog up and then put it on a pond to watch it jet propel itself across the water.
Not my idea of a b.l.o.w job.

I don't know of any scientific study looking to study this particular type of gas exchange. But, you there are a few factors at play here. yes there is going to be some exchange from the bubbles blown themselves, but we also have to look at the fact that the bubbles are breaking up the surface tension for a split second. So there will be some gas exchange with the outside air. So while you will be adding some carbon dioxide to the water when you blow, but because to the breaking up of the surface it is a somewhat safe hypothesize to say that the exchange will allow for more oxygen into the water than is contained in your exhale.

Don't know but if you put a frog in a pot of cold water and heat the water the frog will just sit there and boil to death. This is because they are incapable of reacting to very small changes in the environment. They cannot detect a change in temperature of 1 degree.
The psychological implications are obvious.
We can be a bit like that. Think of the slow but steady changes in our country (England)

Never tried that. But i have a true story to share. Here in our country we have a type of frog that we call 'katak kembong'. Katak-frog, kembong-inflated. But, basically the frog can inflate its pouch under its mouth like a balloon everytime it makes a sound(especially rainy season)
My mischief cousin, took a steel wire, and when the frog blow, he poke it. The frog flew off like a balloon(more like a rocket taking off) when u poke it. I know it is cruel, i even scolded him for that, but it was hillarious.....
Pity the frog...

Probably, but depends what species of frog. I think its plausible that one can be analy blown up to a certain extent, they have elastic tissue somewhere on their bodies, but not exactly like a baloon pliz!!!
