You should let it dry as good as you can. Plug your battery back in and if it still doesn't work, try taking your computer apart as good as you can as long as you know how to put it back, and dry any wet parts with a cotton towel. If it still doesn't work you might want to see if you have a warranty on your computer. If you can't return it for some reason you could probably buy another keyboard or other parts that may have gotten ruined. You can get computer parts really cheap off of eBay. This might defeat the purpose of having a laptop, but you could buy an external keyboard that plugs into your USB port or a wireless keyboard. I'm sure you could find one on the internet. Hope that helps!

For one! Don't eat and drink whilst using your laptop!! But if you insist on eating and drinking you can get a cover for the keyboard that Will protect it, if you can't find one in the shops you can always make one.
Get some very soft plastic, like cling film but thicker and a glue gun or just super glue. Simple

Go to a computer store and ask for a transparent keyboard cover. Or put a plastic food wrap around the keyboard.

As all the other guys say you can get a keyboard skin, as for dust i use a pressurised air spray similar to those used to remove dust from the back of your hard drive and around the fan area. however keep liquids well away good luck

1) dont drink or eat near it or when using it
2) clean your house
3) dont leave the laptop lid open when you dont use it as Dust will get to it...believe it or not.
and finally,
4) clean ur laptop with special wipes you can buy from most computer stores

You can't do anything about the dust, but keep all liquids away from the computer area.
