DVD-R/W and DVD+R/W are physically pretty much the same discs and good for burning, but how the data is stored onto them is different -- DVD+R/W's method is slightly more technically advanced than DVD-R/W's. DVD+R/W discs cost appx 2-4 times more than DVD-R/W discs. Both discs work on regular DVD players, DVD-ROMs and can be read with both writer types. Your choice will be rightly guided with your goal. I hope this help.

+R ==> much stable and most player would prefer or work better with this format. Further burning speed is much stable as compared to -R.
-R ==> will at times create incompatibility problems on players... in terms of burning speed it loose out to +R
PS: to drill in to this, it took me nearly 2 full days... and finally the difference is really nothing much that would concern the end user.. Rather the technicality of this is more relevant to the manufacturer or professional.... I have personally tested it out and ultimately convinced that +R is a better options to burn CD or DVD with...
Hope the info helps...

The DVD+R format is the most popular and easiest to use. More hardware is designed to handle that format which makes your selection easier.
