There might be a problem with your brake booster. It works on vacuum, and if for some way it started to leak internally, the engine will rev up and you would loose most braking power.

THE FIRST THING TO LOOK AT WOULD BE THE ACCELERATOR CABLE AND LINKAGE
IT PROBABLY HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED OR LUBRICATED FOR A LONG TIME
CHECK AND LUBE THE ENTIRE ASSY STARTING WITH THE GAS PEDAL LINKAGEAND MOVING UNDER THE HOOD ALL THE WAY TO THE THROTTLE UNIT
CHECK FOR AND DEBRIS OR DRYNESS IN THE CABLE AS WELL AS WEAR
MAKE SURE THERE IS NOTHING LOOSE OR BLOCKING THE FREE MOVEMENT OF THE SYSTEM
YOU MAY HAVE THROWN ONE OF YOU EMPTY BEER CANS ON THE FLOOR WHICH ROLLED UNDER THE PEDAL

Did the warmth paintings until now the fluid replace? How plenty antifreeze did it take to top off it? Is your temp gauge interpreting widely used while its warmed up? some situations people pour in a gallon and cap it off until now they enable the air arise. you're able to run it with the cap off until the thermostat opens and the temp gauge is going as much as widely used. This vehicle takes approximately 3.5 gallons to fill which contains overflow jug. perhaps their is ice in the strains if it stopped heating abruptly on a chilly night. if so, that ice remains in there. yet another ingredient which may be occurring is the blend door may be caught closed no longer permitting the air to blow in the path of the heater center, yet because of the fact the back heater is doing a similar ingredient, I doubt this is the subject. Bleeding the air out of the gadget is the main important.

need more info...and if it happened once it is very hard to determine...if when you applied the brake and the pedal was very hard to push it was probably your brake power booster and the revving was from the vacuum that is attached to your brake power booster..

hope this helps..
