Ok albert-ross77 or whatever you are called. I never actually read this article in the Daily Mail or any other newspaper, I was merely asking if anyone else had heard of it, I don't need some moron slate me because of my question, as for slagging me off cos I come from Essex, isn't that sort of racist?

Where did you read this? It sounds like nonsense to me, but you never know. I don't know who's crazier - the PC bunch who devise stupid rules, or the right-wing press who make up stories about the PC bunch!
Okay, I've now read the Daily Mail article in question. If you read it, what it actually says is that it was discussed in a management meeting whether or not the crucifix could be a problem in the context of whether a Muslim newsreadress would be allowed to wear HER religious dress. It was almost certainly said in the context of "if you ban a headscarf, would you also ban Fiona's crucifix?" - which seems a fair question.
The upshot was that no move was made to have the crucifix banned. So we can all calm down for a minute (until the next time the Mail tries to stir up trouble).

Hang on a minute, muslims are allowed to wear their religious stuff, as part of the political correctness and tolerance policies everywhere, why does the same rule not apply with catholics/christians?
These people have forgotten that political correctness is supposed to be about equal treatment and balance, NOT dictating that certain people bow down whilst others please themselves.....

Yes I do we are all entitled to our beliefs and if they stop her wearing her crucifix then they should stop Muslims wearing Burk-as and Jews wearing Scull caps etc
I am not religious but this is a Christian country and nobody cares about offending them

Nope--she's between the most specialist of their human beings, IMO. Smile at the same time as suited, would not at the same time as no longer. Very mushy. in case you want a rotten tomato objective, use George (dripweed) Alagiah. Dripweed. lease-a-snigger.

That's ridiculous. This is getting totally out of hand. We're denying someone religious freedoms because we're afraid it's going to offend someone? Unbelievable.

So a person who is seen nationally cannot show their religious faith in any way ?? I can see why they would do it but it is going too far...surely in a multi-cultural, multi-religious society which is a free democracy we can express ourselves despite being seen by millions. Could understand it better if she wore a swastika but why would a cross offend...I give up!!!

Political Correctness gone to far, she should be able to wear a symbol that represents HER faith, its disgusting, we should be mature enough to accept that people have differing religions, why tell her to do this now, muslims can have their own faiths and so should she, if they don't like it tough, I wouldn't tell them to remove their muslim clothing, its sooo damn hypocritical!
