Mark Foley announced today that he is a gay man and an alcoholic. This may not bode well for the Republicans during the upcoming elections. Foley admitted to carrying on perversive emails while voting on legislation. He also stated he only emailed while he was drunk. The implication is he voted on issues while he was drunk.
Other reports stated the Republican leadership in the congress was well aware of Foley's behavior. Some Republican representatives stated they had reported Foley's behavior months ago and thought the situation had been handled by the leadership. The affair seems to mirror the sex scandels in the catholic church.
Do you see this event having any effect on your vote in November, or do you see it as just an isolated incident?

No I don't see this event effecting the way I vote in the November election, because I may not vote at all. Most of these politicians are all about themselves anyway, so why should I vote for someone who is not going to represent my views when they are elected. This scandal just proves the fact that people in congress are hypocrites that hide behind their power.

Foley certainly have some serious issues.
I never liked Republican, but that's because they are pro-war, pro-discrimination, and anti-privacy rights. Foley's problems are minor when you considered how many things the White House and the Republicans had tried to cover up since 911. The whole Weapons of Mass Destruction is a joke, and the whole Iraq Prison Abuse thing...that's much much more serious.

What he did was absolutely disgusting. In the law books, being drunk does not count for a defense. Well in my opinion, I never liked Republicans anyway. But I know, that it will only hurt the mid-term elections alittle bit, but I am 99% positive that the republicans are still going to be the majority. He took the coward way out, and went into rehab for alcoholism, and had his attorney state that he is gay and that he was molested by a clergyman? That doesnt justify what he is being accused of. I think that through his computer, investigators can find out when he was instant messaging these kids and if he was working to find out if he was drunk during the sending of them, which his attorney stated yesterday he has never been drunk while working. What makes me sick the most, is that he is a huge anti-child exploitation activists. I hope he gets what he deserves ...

Ruth writes that "it is ignorant to politicize the vile act of pedophiliMF" nicely, what have the politicians, the two Republicans and Democrats, been doing for the previous decade yet politicizing the vile act of pedophilia? of their zeal to offer a whipping boy for themselves and the accepted public, they have been using actual pedophile circumstances to hearth up a great witch hunt against all intercourse offenders. this is ironic that a baby-kisser, from the state of Florida, no much less, between the main punitive against registered intercourse offenders, could be discovered to have pedophile-form features and now be damned as a attainable pedophile. this isn't any longer plenty politics as karma coming back to bite Mark Foley. in actuality, he does not be the 1st public parent to denounce particular immoral movements jointly as each and every of the jointly as alluring in them in private. the different 2 that spring to ideas are the Reverend Jimmy Swaggart, who solicited prostitutes, and the former coaching Secretary, William Bennett, a ethical Majority form conservative, who finally admitted to having a extreme playing project. As for the questioner, she or he says that this is significant to no longer unfairly inpune somebody's attractiveness...". the subject is that hundreds of thousands of peoples' reputations have been impugned, many with the aid of no fault of their own. this is basically wealthy that a member of the ruling political social gathering a month until now a brilliant election could have this uncovered. If it have been a Democrat who had had this ensue, you're able to make particular the Republicans could be throughout it.

Nope, I knew about Foley before that story broke. Gives a lot of credibility I've heard about child molestation and homosexuality in congress. Why else would they keep Foley in the closet if they didn't have skelletons of their own? I imagine this outing will be a free pass for whever wants to tell about other politicians.

Republicans have a long History of talking out of two faces. One you see and one you will not see until they get caught in the act. Look at S. Thurman he hated Blacks and often said so, he also had a black mistress for many years. Newt Gingslob ask his wife for a divorced while she was on her death bed when he was in a affair with another Woman. Republicans can not be trusted at face.
As to your question. NO, it will not effect my vote. I know all in Congress are crooks and only vote for Democrats as the lessor of two known evils in Congress.

I never planned on voting for Foley or his party.

I think it will affect the vote. All the excuses in the world can't justify what he has done. The fact that others didn't call him on it sooner and do something about it, when they knew about it doesn't make them look good either.
