the weird thing is the rabbit was skinned...i found its fur and feet further down the yard, i would just like to know what animal would kill its food like this, and if this animal would hurt my dog!!!

Probably a fox they would maul at their food for a while. And obvisually they would not eat the fur. No your dog is more likelyto scare it away than be attacked I would hope.
