Hey, Isn't China communist????
HMMMM.....
Though China did start to privatize because they are smart and kept morphing into what worked, it's still not based in Capitalism. It's still based in Socialism.

You really need to study China more before you make blanket statement like that. China was a communist country, and got nowhere. They saw that a commitment to communism did nothing for the USSR, so they abandoned it. They are a capatilist economy. They are not a communist economy.

However, their system of government is stateism. Essentilly, like kings and barons, all property is in ultimatly owned by the state/king. At any time, the state/king can take the property. By working the property you increase its worth, and show the king/state that is better for you to work it because its value increases the coffers of the state/king.

Now here is where it gets really interesting. China ties its currency to the dollar, so as our dollar rises and falls, so to does thier currency. This grants them the stabalizing force to borrow from the IMF. They then use the IMF funds to back their banks, which in turn lend money to relatives of government workers who never pay the money back. The IMF funds chineese growth, and china grows on bowwored money that is not paid back. Eventually, the IMF comes collecting, and the economy tanks.

Right now China has about one trillion in unpaid or over-due bad bank loans. The economist wrote a nice article about it. China is heading for a world of hurt.

Chineese men outnumber women about 3 to one in China. This also hurts China, as less people are born, the ability to offer cut rate wages bottoms out.

This is why China increases their army, because they understand that conquest will need to replace the economic dragon hiding behind the mountain. China will economically collapse within 5 years when the IMF cuts them off. It is a paper economy, and destined for destruction. A good example is the Japanese and German economies of the 80's versus the economy of the 90's. Both economies were to be the next economic power on the block, and both collapsed under the banking costs of financing businesses and homes due to bad monetary policy.

You are confusing Communism, Socialism, and Stateism. China is a capitalist economy, with Stateism for property rights and personal rights, and with socialist fiscal policy. They are three seperate aspects. If anything, the commitment to socialism is hampering China because of the drain of the agribusiness sector of China. They cannot even feed their own people. THe top seven imports to china are food, followed by oil and metals, then lumber. They are a secondary economy without primary economic infrastructure, and no means to progress to a tertiary economy.

Study some economics and east asian history.

Your question reflects a lot of ignorance, so I shall not waste much time on it. But, just remember that the Chinese use the tyrannical aspects of Communism (gulag "re-education" camps, kangaroo court trials, criminalization of dissent) in combination with Capitalistic free-market policies.

Therefore, they have only been successful to the extent that they've been Capitalistic. A better question would be: How much more successful would China be if its political system were democratic?

Yes to bad they didn't want female baby's. Because they committed genocide on their own. They have a lot of males who can't reproduce. If they import females for their sons to marry eventually the Chinese race will be eliminated. So they have created their own quire mire. If every women has two children as is the plan. There will be 1/4 the population their currently is.
Given the way they don't want female baby's they are destroying themselves. No one has to lift a finger. They will not be the next super power because they are going to be a nation of senior citizens. Most never had children. Those who did had 1 boy.
So in 20 years, 3/4 of the population will be senior citizens.
So it is hard to run a war without soldiers.

Communism isn't the same as a free market socialism. The reason China is doing so well as it's moving more towards a free market system. Europe also has more of a free market system. Communism, thus far has failed in the countries it has been tried in.

They turned them into capitalists.
