Since when is it 'communist' and not just really fked up when well to do old timers are collecting TAX PAYER dollars when they don't need it and they DO collect at times exceding what they put in. Aren't these the biggest welfare queens?

It would be MORE amercan to LIVE off your own money and not have to depend on the government for your vacation home money or your vacation cash......

Bharris. I see what you are saying. But it is THAT which is actually a very small part of the problem, remember that this money is taken out of Payroll tax which we all pay into . So if a poor person gets "knocked up" and she is in her twenties, has been paying into payroll taxes for years and probably won't see SS, then she deserves it. sorry.

Uh... nobody DESERVES a handout from the government. It is NOT what the government was intended to be. That comes from the leftist boobs who think that redictribution of wealth is a good thing.
The simple fact is that the only one responsible for your well being is you. You have the right to succeed just has you have the right to fail. You must live with the consequences of YOUR actions. The government was set up to PROMOTE the general welfare, not to PROVIDE the general welfare.
I am against government handouts of any type, whether it be to rich or poor, corporation or individual.

Actually, being in the lower middle class, I thought that morally I needed to be supporting the wealthy with tax breaks, because I didn't think it was fair that they had to pay a higher percentage. Then I met some wealthy people that set me straight on that. They explained that they were all for it because if the money they were paying in taxes helped even one child grow above his environment, they were doing the right thing. If I weren't a married man, I would have to hunt you down and kiss you for this question. It's a great perspective.

Social Security is definitely a big problem, but you must have worked (or been married to someone who worked) to collect. It's definitely wrong that there are people taking out more than they ever put in, but that's a very small part of the problem.
The biggest problem is teenage girls who get knocked up and then get a free ride. These people never put one dime into their own keep. They leech off of working people and have a better lifestyle than those from which they are stealing - especially if they know all the loopholes in the system. They have money for cable, a computer, internet access, cell phones, trendy clothes and shoes, hair extensions, manicures, etc.
I had to work for a lot of years before I could even afford to move out of my parents' house. Cable TV and other luxuries came much, much later.

SS is in trouble and needs and overhaul but what is the best I don't know. I do agree that if you haven't put in you should be able to take out. The rules thought have changed not only is SS used for retirement but for people considered disabled and unable to work, like drug addicts and alcoholics which I don't feel either one of these is a true disability get treatment and get a job.

The communist idea is to have any social security plan at all.
If people would read their history books they would see that SSI and welfare was meant to be a short term program during the Great Depression, then when the commie libs got ahold of it they kept the system running so they could create a class of lazy dependent people to keep them in power.
Guess what? It worked.

Did they actually post rubbish as collateral? i think of with this humongous bail out they could in all probability ruin out with that. all of us desire to purchase the contents of my recycling bin for $500,000? possibly i will convince the Fed.

The more money you MAKE the more you PAY the government in taxes. (property, state, federal, gas (assuming you have more and bigger cars), tax when you buy things (the rich pay luxury taxes), etc.
THE MORE YOU HAVE THE MORE YOU PAY.
