There are many reasons for wearing a bra, but most of all it stops your boobs from bouncing all over the shop. There is nothing more nasty to look at than a woman's breasts (especially if large and unshapely) bouncing all over.

If you are flat chested, then you probably wont' need to wear a bra. For anyone with breasts, you will know what I mean. You need the support.

Dear Rita K

A BRA - AH Yes, our dear wonderful image enhancer that can be such a nuisance sometimes, hey?

First of all a bra helps to give you the correct posture, and helps that you don't grow out of porportion or sag. You get beautiful bra's in this day and age, and it can definitely enhance your good looks.BUT!

If you do not need to wear it, DON'T. meaning if you are a small size and you don't bounce up and down if you run three steps, loose the bra!

Rather get something romantic like a nice camisol with lace or satin or synthetic stuff. The reason for not wearing a bra is obvious - it is a elastic or something similar tightening you up, and just like a socks elastic that is too tight can give you varicose veins, this piece of elastic around and underneath your breasts can definitely not be too good for you.

Hope that answers your question, need any more advice, ask the question with my name and I will see if I can answer it for you.

Some say it is to prevent sagging, but you really can't avoid gravity taking over, especially after you have kids.

Others say it was imposed by men, seeing breasts as mere sex objects, not willing to share "their" property with the eyes of other men. Just another way to control women. You know, they have no problems showing off *their* hairy nipples anyway.

Attributing mere sexual significance to breasts is still prevalent today, in all the complaints and hoopla brought on when a mother nurses her child. Considered, by many, hypocritical and imposing unnecessarily on a mother, her function, and the basic, innate need to nurture her baby.

Are you asking this because you are tired of wearing bras? Please do us a favor, and continue the usage of bras. They were invented for many reasons. Keeping your body parts not necessarily hidden, but not out there inappropiately. They help with the formation of breasts, and other such things.

It depends! If you are well in doubt and you want support a bra comes in very handy if you are rather small then one is really not needed! it also depends on comfort! Womed like to feel support but with comfort! So I would say wear one if you like or dont wear one at all!!

rita a bra has many functions...not wearing one will be a disaster for ur breasts.....your daily activities will cause ur breasts to sag....when you become old your breasts will sag and then you will not like them and will want to go for treatments which is not at all affordable so be wise and wear a bra at all times

to give them shape, to stop them drooping, to give cleavage and help stop your nipples pointing outward or downward so they dont look like sandbags when your older and you can get some really nice bra sets. and if your active a sports bra is handy.

Good underwire bra keeps my "twins" from trying to peek out from under my shirt tail.
