I would also like local businesses to get something out of it too & am wondering if i asked a gew businesses to come & have some stalls & donate 10% of their sales to the charity do you think i will get many takers & do you think i will get many people to come if i advertised well.

Yeah that should go down really well, the businesses will get their name heard and also make some sales out of it at same time..charity events always attract donations too and can be lots of fun raising cash..im doing firewalk for charity and that already has attracted a bit of attention! good luck you should go for it :)

Hi I've just sent you an email.
I've organised some charity events and had the body shop, ann summers, miss goody 2 shoes, virgin vie and party lite there.
We advertised well, put posters up every where, adverts in the local paper and radio stations. The best way to do it though is to charge for tickets we wanted to sell 200 put your number on the poster and do a spreadsheet with the tickets numbered in one column and a space for the buyers name and number to enter them into a free prize draw, give the buyers the corresponding ticket, this way you know how many people are coming for definate.
We charged 10 pound a ticket 5 paid for food and the other 5 went to the charity clic sargent.
Ring round loads of busineses and ask them to either donate a raffle prize or some money.
Out of respect do a poster displaying all the raffle prizes naming any donators.
Another way of making money is to do a pass the parcel we used some not so good gifts like bars of chocolate and some good prizes made a big pass the parcel and charged 2 pound a go this went down a storm.
Sell your raffle tickets everywhere and draw it on the night, tis way your not just getting raffle money off the people attending. You do need to get permission from your council to do a raffle!
Limousine companies are very genorous and love helping charities so any big prizes you get like this do an auction with instead of raffling them off, also fire men are great bury fire service came to ours to do the raffle and we ended up auctioning one of them off to be a slave for a day and got 40 pound for him.

Oh I forgot to mention we raised a massive 2000 pound that night for the charity!

I hope this has helped you
Good luck if you need any more ideas just email me or give me a ring i've put my number on your email

I think the idea is good. I wouldnt keep the % to give away as a condition to be part of the charity. Let the business decide how much they want to contribute. Spread the thought behind the charity and say the charity event is giving that opportunity. I don't know where the town loughborough is? which state in USA?

That sounds like a good idea. Maybe have people doing table top as well, perhaps charge them per stall, or have them give you of their profits.
Only problem with giving part of profits is how would you know how much they had really made?

kind of a twist on words. in case you have been at a pedofile convention and there have been no longer any atheists does no longer that be a good concern on our section. Now because of the certainty the LBBC isn't actual, you're in easy terms a troll. thank you for the two.

you could do with another gimmick- usuallly tea and cakes are on the side!
what about an auction of some kind- an afternoon of clairvoyance! a bring and bid! a guest speaker?
good luck to you!
