I've been playing lotto for YEARS. Occasionally I've won with three or four numbers. The most money I've played at one time is 60 dollars and I won 5.50 with that. I stopped playing for a while. I came close to winning twice. I had the first four number but the fifth was off by one and the sixth off by two. The jackpot was 35 million. After I recovered from the mental and emotional breakdown I didn't play for over a year. The second time that I "could" have won I had ALL SIX WINNING NUMBERS......but had decided not to play. That jackpot was 100 million. If you will notice location is a factor and also it's the already rich who are winning and they seem to be caucasions predominately. Remember that multi-millionaire who won power ball and ended up getting busted at a strip club with 500.000 dollars in his truck? Some people don't NEED to win and some don't DESERVE to win. I've spent thousands over the years and don't have anything to show for it. You could keep trying and who knows it might happen for you eventually.

You should only play Lotto with money you
can afford to loose. I don't know about your
particular location's Lotto statistics, but here
in eastern NC, the Power Ball Lotto has
game odds of roughly 140,000,000 to 1
against winning the jackpot. They do not
routinely publish the odds on the smaller prizes.
At least I have not noticed such a publication.
As far as winning goes, I have won several
small prizes - max $24. So there is a small
element of excitement in the gamble. I never
purchase more than $20 worth of tickets, and
don't ask me how much I have spent so far...
I hate the thought.

Because you don't buy enough tickets.
The odds of winning the UK lottery are approximately 14 million to one, so in order to gaurantee winning you have to buy 14 million tickets. Thats every single combination of the 6 numbers.
Given that the "normal" jackpot is around 6 or 7 million pounds, and you may have to share it with a few other people, it's not really a worth while exercise.
Invest in premium bonds. You could win a milion pounds and at the end of the day you get your money back plus interest!

The Jackpot - 6 Numbers (Typical prize: £2 million)
6 numbers are drawn at random from the set of integers between 1 and 49, which means there are 49!/(6!*(49-6)!) combinations of numbers . The means that the jackpot chance is 1 in 13,983,816 or approximately 1 in 14 million.

Because the people who usually win big are already loaded. This allows them to buy more tickets and have a better chance of winning.

lotto wont help u, the chances that u could win are so.. so.. very slim...its like getting hit by lightning, then falling into the atlantic ocean, and getting eaten by great white sharks ( who stay in the pacific) while visiting your grandmother in kansas...
