It's definitely an invasion of boundaries and personal space. That is a big issue with me. My kids don't like to be touched by people they don't know. They have been taught very well not to talk to strangers so touching is definitely off limits. It's really common sense as far as I'm concerned. When I see a cute baby or kid I just remark to the parents how cute they are and I may talk gibberish to the baby but I don't touch. You just don't put your hands or anything else on other people's kids. When it comes to my kids, that could cause you to lose a few body parts.

When I was stuck in an airport in the middle of Turkey, the police kept taking my 6 week old baby outta my arms and walking away to play with her.
When I tried to object the got really pissed and made me sit down.
Horrible experience. Last holiday there.

I hate it when people do that! I don't mind if they touch his feet if they have socks on them, but get your grimy paws off of my kids head. There's no need to stroke his hair. Next time I should say...please don't touch him, he's been really sick. Maybe that will help.
But I don't get what makes them think it's ok to just touch him...b/c he's a baby?? I don't think so. I would go up to a baby and start touching him. People are weird.

I really don't mind if people talk to the kids I am with. My "kids" are 29 and 33 but I baby sit my granddaughters (11,4, and1). I do NOT like people to touch them. If they want to talk or google and the kids don't mind fine but I better be right there (or their parents), too. I like to talk to babies and little kids but I am way more reserved about it now. I ask a parent first if it is okay. But I NEVER touch. Ick!
