hey friend,
It is very easy to start a Bonsai cultivation. I'm an Agriculture Engineer in Kerala.Anyone can start a bonsai cultivation without a previous knowledge in it.
The first and foremost thing is to have an interest in it. You must collect the seedlings without any damage to the root system. Then mix red soil, sand, cowdung in the ratio 1:1:1 and add some peat moss over it. Water it daily with enough quantity. It should be kept in Sunlight so that it can grow well. It can also be grown under shade, but you should shift it to sunlight after every 3 days. There is a particular container called Bonsai container of various shapes like oval, rectangle, square etc. it can be of Clay, Chinese Porcelain etc. The container size should be in accordance with the size of the plant.

If you are still not satisfied, feel free to Email me. I will collect date from reliable sources and give you.

You can start with seeds, but its very lengthy, for what reasons?

Better choose one which is aged, mature to save your years. I used to hunt for dwarf variety with thick stems.

Incase if the required plant is not available in nursery, then start with seed, like I have sown tamarind seed bcos
where I live no one sells tamarind samplings.
