It happened with me every time i got checked with all 4 pregnancies. As long as its spotting and not more than that. It could also be your mucus plug. Is it just blood or does it look like bloody snot..I know ewww but best way to describe it.

Good luck

it could be your mucus plug coming out I remeber during my 1st pregnancy it was a bloodish discharge. With my other two I had never noticed it. It can come out a few weeks before you have a baby. The only time I bleed after the doctor checking my cervix was at the check up 6 weeks after giving birth to my youngest it scared me and she said it was fine

A normal cervical exam should not cause spotting. Sometimes there is a bit after a Pap smear collection.
Since this question is in the Pregnancy category, I assume you are pregnant. If so, your spotting could be for many reasons, most of them harmless.

Yes is is normal to spot after that sort of exam, but it could also be your mucus plug. It should only last 1-2 days, but if it gets heavier, or you start to get sharp cramping pains, call your OB/GYN and get to the hospital right away.

Congratulations on your upcoming baby!!!!

It depends in what circumstances..last time i had a smear.. i spotted because they SCRAPE the cervix to get the cells. I wouldnt worry too much and if you are worried.. speak to the practice nurse or your GP

It is completely normal. If doesn't go away after a couple days, I would head back to the doctor.

I wouldn't worry - its happened to me a couple of times. As other people have said - if it continues for more than a couple of days, go back to the doctors.

It's possible that some of your mucas plug is out. Put your feet up, relax and call your doc.
