Airport security is a freaking joke. If we're so worried about terrorists why have the borders of our nation not been tightly secured.
"If you want total security, go to prison. There you're fed, clothed, given medical care and so on. The only thing lacking is freedom."

albert_ross77 - First it's funny how you say Europe is a country when it's actually a continent, but what should we expect from Republicans. Second, you wanna talk about going against American values and American ways of life, then you haven't heard of the US Patriot Act have you. Mindless sheep will follow each other to the slaughter.

Can you believe Albert Ross saying Dwight Eisenhower out to be in gitmo. Last repuglican that got it. There has not been a repuglican since him that was not all about greed. When we change our life style to accommodate the terrorist for the sake of security then the terrorist have won. That is their objective and I am afraid to say that the patriot act is helping them and not the American people to be safe.

That link is hilarious!
Yes, airport security is a joke. But at least they're trying. Personally, I'd rather see that they're doing too much, than not doing enough.
I don't know why our borders aren't secure. For some reason, there's been a debate about it for years. Stupid politicians.
I don't agree with your remark about it being typical for Republicans to do stupid things like call Europe a country, though. That is really unnecessary. Comments like that are just as discriminatory as ANYTHING that many from your side (and farther left) of the spectrum accuse Republicans of.
Just a warning. I'm nice, and I don't report people for stupid stuff, but in your comments, you're chatting, which is a violation of Y!A TOS. I think this is actually a pretty good question...I wouldn't want to see it get deleted.

Security is not a joke and our nation was not founded on humor. If anyone wants to joke or say anything un-American they can go to some third World Country like Europe. I think it is right during times of national crisis that they monitor what people say and do and enforce rules to make sure that people do not have terrorist, un-Christian or liberal thoughts that impinge upon our rights as Americans and the values that we stand for. If you don't have anything to hide or have a belief in our system then you will not have anything to fear. I think the guy you mentioned should have been locked up and shot for treason or at the very least sent to Gitmo.

Here's a thought. Place yourself in the position of being responsible for the security of a whole plane load of passengers while being paid at a rate that's laughable at best. You've been watching on TV about the whack jobs who are trying to open airplane doors in mid flight and making all sorts of threats. Your bosses see to it that you are made aware of every incident of that sort. Then this genius with a chip on his shoulder because he wants to move briskly through the line without having to give up a few minutes of his time because he thinks he's important, comes through your line and a vision of him pulling some sort of stupid stunt that endangers others because you let him pass without comment flashes through your head. What would you do.
Sorry, there's just too many nutcases and Kool Aid drinkers out there. The TSA has been charged to see that all travelers reach their destinations safely, and if that inconveniences me a little bit, so be it. I'd rather be inconvenienced that splattered all over the landscape. If you can't handle that, travel by rail. You can probably get away with any stupid shennanigans you want on a train.

Did you hear the story of the shepherd that lied too much?
In brief: he'd occasionally yell out "wolf attack" and create panic in the village for a while and villagers would soon find out that it was a joke. Then one day a real wolf attacked his herd but the villagers didn't go to help him because they believed he was a liar. That would be the case with the US & UK.
