There is some thing called front end, not fronthand. SQL * Plus, Developer etc. r most common front ends for oracle. U may also use Java, Visual Basic etc. to interact with Oracle.

Previously I used to work with Developer and it is probably the best front end tool I have ever used. Presently I use Java. Sql * Plus is all time favourite for any serious Oracle user.

The "ERP" know as "Oracle applications" which last version is 11i was developed using "Oracle Forms" and Java as Front End.

The programming language is "PL/SQL", the native Oracle Oracle RDBMS programming language.
