Here are the different parts of a book:
Title - Name of the book
Author - Person who writes the book
Publisher - Company who prints the book
Illustrator - Person who draws the picture for a book
Preface - Introduction to the book
Table of Contents - List of chapters with their page numbers
Appendix - Extra information put near the end of a book
Glossary - Alphabetical list of definitions
and pronunciations of special or unusual words
Index - Alphabetical list of topics and their page numbers
placed at the very end of a book
Text - Main part of the book written by the author
TItle page - First page of a book which tells the title,
author, illustrator, and publisher
Bibliography - List of other books to read

The paragraph you get at the back of a book is called synopsis and it is really what the book is about.
