Interesting thought, so I did some research to see what leading democrats thought about it. The attached article is excellent.

There is NO evidence of actual sex between the two people. The only thing admitted were emails and IMs. In DC the younger person is of the age of consent so there are no minors involved.

It shoudlnt be called a scandal. They are people too, let them have some sex. It's their business, not ours.

Happens all the time, and throughout history. This is not a new thing. For some reason John Kennedy was protected from his flagrant sexcapades by the press, but he was the exception. We know more today because news is now instantaneous as opposed to the old days when you might hear something on TV during the news, and there were also very few news shows when there were just the 3 networks. Before TV, just the papers to disseminate news, and those didn't really get popular until later in the 1800's. Before that, not really that long ago, news was just spread by word of mouth for the most part.

I think it has no right to become political, foley for example, did the right thing and resigned no he destroyed his own life and his immediate family, and he came out of the closet, but that is not a political party connection just a personal one,

I think it would be an issue that would involve ethics and moral standards, for example, if the politician involved would lie to his wife, he'd lie to you too. If he doesn't want it made public, he should step down quietly. Is that not how elections work? Public opinion? great question!

I do if it involves minors!
If a person sets himself/herself up as not only a political leader but also a "moral" leader, then that person will find that any misconduct will result in public anger.
