My husband and I was married for over twenty years and separated for about 7 years. He left his policy and will to his daughter and they paid for the funeral expenses and all. They did not invite me to ride in the funeral car and stated I would have to pay for one on my own. I do not have the money. The funeral director states I will have to pay $200.00. Being his wife of many years how could they do this to me. We both was disabled and could not cae for one another , reason of separation. The family of the ex-wife is not fair with me. So he was married before but now I am the wife. Anyone out there able to help me understand how to deal and cope with this situation.

when you 2 separated he must have started back dealing with his wife.and his kids may have never liked you ,sorry.life is not fair and it's messed up to see how someone really felt about you after all these years.just take care of your self and pray about it things will be alright.

first , sorry for your loss but i have a feeling you are not going to win this one if he left everything to his daughter (i will assume you mean from a previous marriage) first never mind the funeral car as long as you attend the services. you can arrive in a truck as long as you attend the services. then contest the will to make sure that your husbands wishes are clearly stated in the will.

Terrible... Do they imagine that this is how HE would have wanted it? You should point that out. The $200 is for??? I thought the expenses were taken care of... is this for the car, I assume? Aside from appealing to the ex's sense of empathy, is there anyone in your family that can loan you the money? Good luck to you.

The same thing happened to me...just find someone who is willing to give you a ride for free and go to the funeral anyway.

You seperated for 7 years. he's dead and buried. You're annoyed because you didn't get to ride in the limo? C'mon.....you gotta be kidding..right?!?
However do some of you people here copme up with these hare-brained dilemas that normal folks wouldn't even give a second thought to.

They are being petty this always happens they try to squeeze you out but dont let them get a friend to take you and park yourself in the front row with your head held high congrats on a long marrage but condolences on his passing

i know your hurt and everything, but it does not really matter how u get to the funeral.. just catch a cab.. as long as you can pay your respects in your own way thats all that matters.

Ok your feelings are hurt ,True ! I think you should pray for their selfish ways & go on with your life.You will see that what people put out in the world they do get back one way or another.
