I think if you self-teach yourself that's very good. Once you can do it then it is also a good idea to talk to other tarot card readers and you can always learn something new from them. A good source for self-tuition is: www.learntarot.com it is a great website but I'm sure you can find other free on-line tarot courses. Practice makes perfect. Offer your friends and family free readings and ask them to give you a feedback after a couple of weeks or months. You can learn a lot from that too.

the best way to learn tarot is to practice and pick up as many skills as you can from other people. I've been reading the tarot professionally for six years now and am always learning something new. Text book taught isn't set in stone, it is more based on what you see in an individual card. We teach psychic studies once a month at the psychic cafe across the uk. check out www.psychiccafe.org for details. Next Friday and Saturday is the UK tarot conference where you can pick up loads of ideas and meet like minded people. If you would like one to one tution please contact me through my web site www.thefullerpicture.org and I would be happy to help.

First of all, never mind the people who tell you that Tarot is evil or bad or dangerous. Its just a tool we use in order to release our psychic ability. If you truly have a gift, you will be able to teach yourself, using books as a guideline. Being thought is just learning someone elses interpretation of the cards. Try to do a reading and listen to what comes into your head, no matter how silly it sounds. Everyone reads differently. You will find your way on your own x :-)

You either have the talent to read tarot cards or you don't!
If you could read tarot cards you would not be asking this question, you can not be taught to read tarot cards, you have to teach yourself! You are either gifted in that way or you are not!

If you are you will find reading then like second nature to you, if you are not then you will never understand how to read them!!!!!!!

Sorry but you can or you can't!!!!!!!!!!

For some people being taught is ok but I learned more doing my own study.
I use the The Haindl Tarot myself since my wife gave it to me a few years back to study with

I think it's best to learn by yourself and develop your intuition, although I'm sure it's possible to find classes that are helpful. Your could try both & do whichever feels best to you. I recommend the book 'Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom' by Rachel Pollack - it helped me a lot.

And please ignore all the people who say it's bad/nonsense/just a pointless game. Tarot can give you wonderful insights into yourself and any situation that you find yourself in, and can further your self-development.

Teach yourself how to read tarot cards, most of it is just common sense after a while, you can get some really good books on how to self teach, good luck.

Well I would say a group setting as you need to learn from one another and test your readings on your fellow students once the course is over. Validation is important to help you feel confident in what you are sensing and seeing.

Go for private tuition so that you can learn by one to one teaching by a professional who can teach you how to do it properly.
