They should be allowed but they need to follow the rules here. They need to be screened for health issues, and they need to be screened for crimes. If they have either of these they need to stay in their own country.
They should be made to pay taxes just like everyone else here. If they're over here taking my jobs, and making my american dollar then they need to play by the rules just like we do.

The Illegal immigrant population already puts an incredible strain on our economy.Healthcare costs alone are astronomical. If you make it "legal" you are then going to add untold Billions to other public assistance programs. The Earned Income Credit would have to be eliminated from the tax code or another exponential increase in funds would be outlay ed.The problems I've mentioned are assuming that most of the individuals concerned would be unskilled labor, but if they are educated and highly trained they can already gain access to the country legally. If this is for a class discussion, you should bring up the point that we are going after the wrong people already. The fine for hiring an undocumented worker is a maximum of $10,000 per employee. If we enforce those laws we don't need any others. If there are no jobs there would be no reason to enter the country illegally. And if we force employers to pay those fines the funding for the additional enforcement staff would be self sustaining.

If am going to be honest about this i'll say that since they are already there they should be given a chance to be legit. Long as they are law abiding and cause no trouble.

Most of what these mexican do Americans cant. America is a free country. Its a home for all. America is what it is because of the countribution of differenrt races and individuals, religions and tribes settled there. Its a bond of unity from different walks of life without segregation or isolation in togetherness towards greatness!!! America is great BUT because of combined efforts. It is a web that has already been formed. Its a facet to a structure of a building.Dont break it.

I dont think its a problem that they are making money in america cause not to forget"Its America" but they are also getting paid for work they have sweated for and also made someone rich in the process!!! Its a circle!!

Mexico is a close neighbour. A little help to them wont hurt America. But its important to bear one thing in mind. I think a neighbour'sproblem is your problem cause it may escalate and affect you too.
Keep the law abiding, tax paying mexicans.Make them legal, tighen the borders to illegal immigrants. At least take a study of why too many mexicans want to be in America, what they are running away from, not necessary for them but for America to know the root and cause of such massive immigration.
I could go on and on but i guess this should do it.

(begin personal rant)
Mexico is a horrible place to live, yes, and I'm sorry for that, but is that MY problem? Should I have to take money from MY pocket to support someone who is here illegally? SHould I have to press 1 for English? Should Corporate America be allowed to profit from hiring illegals at a lower wage to put even more money in THEIR pockets instead of hiring someone who is not only better qualified for the job, but also who is here legally? I was unemployed for a while, and went down to my local welfare office to try to get some help. I was denied. Yet I was also the only white face in the waiting room. I know that sounds rascist, and you can thumb me down if you want, but it really made me mad. That is not the only time I have been denied for something in favor of someone who can't even speak English. Here in Texas, the problem is even worse. The local Wal-Mart (where I no longer shop) even has piped in commercials in Spanish.
Illegal immigration is a problem that has been allowed to get out of hand, it is an issue that has been allowed to bloat and fester and grow wild until now we have so many of them in our counrty that they feel they have a voice of their own. All these companies say that if they were not allowed to hire illegals, prices would be too high. Well, I think the CEO can do without a new car every year, or the president of the company can sacrifice that trip to the Bahamas, if it means more jobs for AMERICANS.
(end personal rant)

Honestly, I believe that if you are undocumented then you don't deserve the protection of the USA or any of the benefits that go to citizens that are documented. I believe that people who are documented---either by birth, naturalization or obtaining a green card or valid work permit---deserve to have the benefits of obtaining public assistance, having help with gaining employement, or homes/cars. If you are not documented then the USA should not be responsible for assisting you or your life style. Too many immigrants come into this country undocumented and take the benefits away from those that have lived here and that truly need the benefits. I don't see that it is fair to allow this to continue. If you want to live here in the USA and use its benefits and everything else, then you should get documented and you should learn to speak our language. It is not fair to those of us who have lived here for all of our lives to be forced to learn your language because you find it is unfair. You are coming to our country respect our lands, just like we would respect your lands if we went there.

I think we have enough here already . And no more should be allowed in cause there is already a strain on our welfare system ,healthcare system and etc...... how many more do we need? I mean our economy is already in the toliet and we dont have enough jobs to go around as it is thanks to our government outsourcing our jobs to foreign countries . Wake up for god's sake this is why 9/11 happened ,letting every tom ,dick and harry into our country.

i don't think they have the right to be here. and, i don't want them here.
my husband and I bust our as$'s to get what we have and what we need and want. we don't expect hand outs and it makes me sick how those damn people can come here and think they have the rights to our health care...welfare system...and not have to pay taxes. they are criminals by breaking our laws and coming here illegally. The mexican mafia has gotten so bad, and I don't see anything being done with those nasty people.
I'm sick of hearing that we were all immigrants all one time.....I was never an immigrant...I am 100% American. We are talking about the now..not the yester years.
I'm sick of being called racist just because I'm a white American Women who cares about America and could careless about the illegals.
i think the people who hire them...like tyson chicken...should be fined and have their licens taking from them.

NO they should not be here.
They are here ILLEGALLY for one. They are helping to destroy our economy, they cost us way too much in health care, free money, and are just too much of a strain. They should all go back to where they came from and stay out of the United States, we have more than enough now.

if they come in legally than fine........but, just to jump a fence and come here waving their flags and demanding rights....they can stay over there.
i find them to be a pain on the American citizens. they don't pay taxes and they get free health care and steal American citizens SS# to get food stamps and a welfare check and to buy homes.
they are criminals and have no rights here.
and i also think it's Bull Sh!t that ppl think we need them to do our dirty jobs..............wtf ever.
America done just fine with those jobs before they came here.
I think they need to get OUT.
