The human body is normally used to getting sleep during the night, and being awake during the day. But modern technology ( Satellite communications) has made it possible for us in India to be in instant touch with people in USA, where the time is exactly opposite what it is in India.[Night / Day.] So, while it suits USA to get all their business work out-sourced to India, (And we want the 'good money' they pay!), this kind of working all night DOES cause havoc in our body's bio-rhythm ! We become irritable, unable to concentrate on work, have emotional and psychological problems, lose weight / gain weight due to eating junk food, ...... and become a virtual wreck!
No wonder, people quit soon! = High attrition rate of employees! It is an unnatural way of living. In Indian mythology, such people are called "Nishachars" or RAKSHAS!

large availablility of jobs is hte reason. the industry is growing at 25-30%. In such a secenario, a 6 months experienced person can get a quantum jump if jobs are switched. Besides, there is a feeling that bpo jobs are a temporary phenomonenon. If a bpo employee gets a traditional sector job for 25% less salary, he would switch. The amount of dowry commanded by a job is a rough indicator. an IAS person can get huge dowry. a bop employee may have to pay a dowry.
