Hmm, never really dealt with the water, so I have to go with the clock.
When I was a teenager, I had a wall clock in my room. Normally I can fall asleep with the TV on and the volume maybe higher than normal. However, this clock would *tick* *tick* *tick* all night long. Sometimes, I had to get up and take the battery out just to get some sleep. Then I'd hear the AC kick on (heard the air blowing out the vent) and that would keep me awake.
Actually, right now, I am at work and I have a wall clock right above my head. Now that you mention it, I can hear it and it's driving me crazy.
