My husband and I absolutely LOVE Walt Disney World. We go at least 5 times a year. We do not have any children, yet, but when our first child is born in January we are already planning a trip to bring our son when he will be 2 months old.
It is not very pleasant in the summer if you have children and think that you have to see everything. If you have children you need to realize that the sunshine is going to wear you and the little ones out fast. However if you go in the off season (oct./ early nov./ Jan./ any other times not during school vacations) it is great.
There are so many things to do in all four theme parks, whether it be going on rides, watching a show or just sitting in the shade and enjoying the scenery. Disney has great water parks, my favorite being Typhoon Lagoon. They recently opened the water coaster, Crush n Gusher. They have Sharks Reef, where you swim with the sharks. Everything is amazing.
Not only can you go to the theme parks and water parks, but also it is so fun just walking around the resorts. My favorites are Polynesian Resort, Yacht and Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Disney has some wonderful restaurants such as Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom and many more.
There is also Downtown Disney which has all the disney shops you can imagine. It is fun just walking there and taking in the scenery as well, not to mention Downtown Disney Westside and Pleasure Island for your night entertainment.
Yes, some may say Disney is not worth it, but everyone needs to be able to make that decision on their own. I feel that Walt Disney World is the one opportunity that everyone should be able to experience once in their lifetime, even if they decide that it is not for them.

It's the most amazing place in the world! I can't even explain. I've only been a few times, but I'm trying to go at least once a year, now. There's so much to do at Walt Disney World. You can go for multiple weeks, even a month, and not leave WDW property, and not get bored or run out of things to do. There's four different theme parks, two awesome water parks, and Downtown Disney. There's over 25 different resort options on property, and Disney has its own transportation system of monorails, boats, and shuttle buses. There's nearly an infinite amount of recreation- golfing, mini golfing, fishing, horseback riding, water skiing, parasailing, boat rentals, etc. There's just so much to do! It's the best place on Earth, and the fact that it's the number one travel destination proves it.
I love it there and can't wait to go back!

Disney World is the happiest place on earth! I am 19 and i have been 3 times and my next trip is in April. My old highschool teachers takes highschoolers, and me even tho im in college, to disney for 5 days/4 nights and its only $400 dollars every year! Pays for park fees and everything...all we have to do is take a 3 hour class IN the park and thats our deal. Disney no matter what age is fun...you just have to make it fun even tho ur way to old lol. It may not have all the extreme rides like six flags but the park, the workers, and the theming make six flags and others look like steel mills. I will go to disney as much as i can until i die because when your there, its like no place else!!! gah...disney......

I have been so many times, I have lost count, and I have loved it every time. Magic Kingdom is the best. However, you need to know just how to do it, or it could be a bad experience. Check out Disney's website for tips and such. For instance, staying inside Disney makes life so much easier. You avoid parking fees and having to drive. If you get tired, you just catch a ride back to your room for a nap or a snack or whatever.

I guess it depends on your personality. For me I loved it. But I enjoy simplistic things. Not necessarily childish or immature things. I really enjoyed it and am going to take my 60 year old parents there. I know they will enjoy it (except the walking!). Some people on here said No, or no way but if you are asking I'm thinking you would like it because you already seem interested in it. There is a lot more than just rollercoasters there, btw. Some of the shows are just amazing. Definately see Philharmagic for one. The fireworks and nite shows are great too.
Go and find out for yourself though.
Oh and ps. the water is NOT 3 bucks its 2 or 2.25. Which I'm from Minnesota and our stadium here for the baseball team the Minnesota Twins charges 3.75 - 4.50 for a bottle of water. 2.25 Is not so bad.

I am going to tell you a story....In 1987, I went to Disney World with my husband and son. My sister was living in Florida at the time, so we stayed with her. It was August.
She dragged us around Disney World (which at the time only included Magic Kingdom and Epcot). We were hot, and exhausted. I hated it. Never wanted to go back.
My OTHER sister loves Disney World. Her and her husband used to go every year. One year they went THREE times!! (The lived in Rhode Island!) Every time they would go, they would ask me, and I would be like , "thanks, but no thanks".
In Nov. 2003, my brother-in-law passed way suddenly. My sister was devestated. Yet, in the spring, she wanted to go to Disney and asked me. This time I said "yes" because I had been spending a lot of time with her and figured why not?
WELL, I LOVE IT!!!!!! I went with her in 2004, and have gone back twice since. I am even going back in December of this year, and I just got back in September!!!
The moral of the story is... there are a lot of factors involved when you make a judgement. I now know that I LOVE Disney World, but would never go back in the summer (too hot). You have to make your fun. You don't have to run from ride to ride or show to show and see everything. Relax and enjoy where you are, what you see and the people you are with.
Disney World is a beautiful place. However, you cannot enjoy it if you are arguing over which ride to go on next or what you are going to eat. Make the most of it. I have seen myself spend over 30 minutes just looking at a rabbit frollicking in one of the lovely gardens. Life is short. Enjoy.

Yes. Disney World sucks; it is overrated. If you want to go to a real amusement park, go to Universal Islands of Adventure!!!

I have and loved it...each time is different. The trick is don't go when it's real hot or real crowded. Don't plan every second there, have fun, chill out, take breaks, the funnest part of all is sitting on a bench a watching all the people, don't stress out over it and build it way up or you will be disappointed. let yourself have fun!!!!
