Last year an Orange County man was sentanced to death for killing his six children That woman that drowned her five children so that sho could be with her new boyfriend got her conviction overturned because she was "depressed". Yesterday and woman who blind folded, stabbed, and posed her son as revenge against her husband was sentanced to 26 years.

Inland Empire school districts are being suied fo hiring a male teacher who admitted to getting a thrill out of having young students sit on his lap while at the same time womens groups lobbie to have sentances reduced for female teachers who have SEXULA INTERCOURSE with their male students.

Right here on yahoo I found a 26 yr old woman who was upset by the disapproval she found from people over her 2 yr relationship with a boy who had just turned 18. The majority of women told her that she shouldn't care what others thought.

Why aren't more women outraged by this kind of stuff? I thought women wanted to equality.

Please don't generalize about women feeling immune from personal responsibility. The cases you mention horrify me and were it in my power to do so I would not have let the women in question off easy.

I'll grant you that there are plenty of examples of judge's going easy on female offenders. I saw that when I was working in child support enforcement when deadbeats were being prosecuted and the female offenders were more likely to be given "one more chance" - which often turned into 3 or 4 more chances. Often it seemed like it was older male judges giving the women the easier judgments. Maybe they had old-fashioned, paternal instincts when it came to the women they should have been sentencing? Maybe they know jail is a hard place and wanted to protect the women? Maybe elected judges fear the wrath of the public if they issue a harsh sentence to a timid looking female, while they feel there would be less backlash for a strict sentence on a male. But I was very frustrated on the occasions when horrible excuses for a mother were let off easy for no good reason. And ALL of my co-workers shared my frustration. None of us thought that women should be held to an easier standard.

So I think you are right that in many situations historically women have been let off easy. But I think there are plenty of women out there who are outraged about that.

And for the record, in several instances I find myself feeling stricter in my interpretation of how accountable a woman should be. When a woman kills her own child, I find myself even more appalled (if that is possible) than I would if a man were to do it. I start thinking about how the woman should have had maternal instincts and should have been all the more diligent about not harming her child/ren.

you are right... we do want equality... the things that you have listed are wrong and women shouldn't get away with them just cuz they are women... however, it's the same with minorities and everyone else...

How fair is it that we have schools for blacks that whites can't go to? It would be called discrimination if it was the other way around.... and scholarships for ppl of certain color, race or religion... thats wrong as well...

You have to remember the bigger picture here... EVERYONE is trying to get away with things. I am sure that if you were to do more research you will find plenty of things that are unfair... inequal and wrong... Life sucks like that...

Responsibility isn't inborn, it's something that's learned. We hold women to a very low standard of morality and we coddle them because they're only women. If they really wanted equality they'd demand identical punishment to men for their crimes rather than being chastised like little girls when they do wrong.

One can find examples of human behavior to support almost any position. Certainly, there are instances of injustice in our system. I will still contend that we have one of the best justice systems in society. Can it be improved, of course. Blanket statements such as yours are not easily defended in the light of honest examination.

When you make a statement like that it helps to name your source(s). Seems like your just ranting against women.
