If the prescription is not working after a few days she should seek another opinion. This is not normal.

Sounds like high insulin (hyperinsulinemia) or one of the conditions it can cause (which includes diabetes). Your niece should find a doctor willing to do the tests (full CBC, Ha1C, fasting blood insulin) and if necessary, a fasting 6-hour glucose tolerance test (rules out diabetes and low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).

There are diets that she can put herself on while waiting on the doctors. Check out the library link at www.hufa.org for some suggestions.

Also www.hufa.org has info on systemic yeast syndrome. If her problem is due to high insulin, yeast syndrome may also be present, becoming a complicating factor.

Could be anything.....but the symptoms you have explained show signs of diabetes, possible liver or kidney damage, or lymphodema - in which her lymph glands may not be working to their full potential.....this is a possible sign of early cancer - get her to change her doctor and have them do all the tests

hope she is ok....
