Yes Cirrus & 123 are the most commonly used cashpoints. They are available in all ATM machines that are all over sharm. So any HSBC, NSGC, Citibank ATM will support the above mentioned cards.

Nationwide will know so ask them by picking up the phone and saying "can u use cashpoint cards in Sham al sheikh e.g. Nationwide - Link / cirrus?"
Surprisingly they may give you an answer as long as its not that fat bloke in the advert who says "brand new customers only" or if you're not transferred to an Indian Call Centre where they know very little and are generally unhelpful

its not really all that adviseable because if you lose your card you are stuck or if you end up with it being cloned they can strip your account of everything. I would take either US $ Travellers Cheques or GBP £ Travellers Cheques with a couple of hundred in egyptian pounds, if you pay £3.50 in any first choice shop then they will also buy back upto £200 of currency or the amount that you purchased depends on which is the lower amount.

Good luck
PS nationwide do not charge you to withdraw when you are abroad but it might be worth checking out the rates that they give you before you go if you chose this method, Also if you purchase money and TC from first choice then log on to the marks and spencer website and tell them that you want that rate as it is the best rate that you will get, first choice have a policy that says that they will price match if not beat anyother rate on the high street.
