I wouldn't want a statue built in my honour. However I wouldn't mind a garden and a memorial dedicated to Mohandas K Gandhi, the Mahatma, in the country where I live in. The philosopher and the politician. The most famous vegetarian that ever lived. The man who incited his country to rise up to the British rule and achieve independence through non-violent means.

We need gardens dedicated to him in all parts of the world, to remind new generations that there was once lived such a man, to paraphrase Albert Einstein.

And we certainly need more leaders like him in this world we live in, now, don't you think?

In these days where land has become so dearer and costly, having statues all over the country should be discouraged and instead, a picture would do in some hall of fame.
