Are you shaving with or against the grain? Shave with, then go over it against to make it smoother. Use moisturizing shave gel. Also, either shave in the shower or right after you get out. Get some of that nivea moisturizer stuff & put it on right after you shave. All this stuff helps.

...also, don't shave with a mousetrap....this could be your main problem.

1- Have a hot shower before shaving, this open the pores and will soften the hair

2- Use fresh razors. Razors that have been used many times become dull and grow bacteria - two problems that significantly worsen razor burn. Use new razors every two weeks or five uses, and clean your razor well after every use.

3- you might be increasing your chances for razor burn. Buildup of hair and product in the blades of your razor forces you to push down with more pressure on subsequent swipes, making it more likely that you'll irritate or cut the skin.

4- dulling of the blade is due to the formation of microscopic "teeth" on the edge, made up of mineral crystals from the water. These drag against the skin, causing the blade to grab and producing cuts and much of the razor burn.

So switch blades often, and store your razor in a clean, dry place. Find more tips and tricks at www.shaverlab.com

If you have a soft skin you should use Gel. Then you wait a couple of minutes and start shaving nice and slowly. After shaving don't use any products with alcohol.

Start by soaking you face in warm water and use whatever cream or soap you can lather up with then shave with the grain.
