I have a friend who is pretty much in love with me and he knows I don't want to be with him in that way but he keeps persuing it. He has started buying gifts to prove his devotion, how can I make this stop but still keep the friendship?

My sister took the gifts anyway and has confused many a guy. Don't do that.
Refuse the gifts, first of all. Tell him a sincere thank you but please use that time to explain how you would feel if you accepted the gift, that you think he would get the wrong idea. Different words if you want coz I'm too honest maybe.
Next, whenever he says something "loving" or "devoted," cut him down without being mean, nip it in the bud and don't let him go on to more things. Every time. Ignoring obviously hasn't worked.... A good "cut" could be to remind him how important your friendship is to you or what a great friend he is, and then maybe move on to something else like you go out the door and have to go somewhere you forgot or just remembered. Since he's not respecting you and listening when you tell him straight, just leave the room after you tell him again.... He'll get tired of it, if he is really your friend and not always been after something.

Frist of all, do not take the gifts, like him know that you wish to be friends, if that does not do it, find your self a boyfriend. and stop hanging out with him,no call or anything else, change your telephone number, and if he keeps come over, hire a lawyer.

#1 don't except any gifts from him,
#2 Talk to him tell him you are serious about just remaining friends and you would rather not take it any further because it could destroy your friendship..

you need to sit down with him and talk. tell him you dont want to be with him on the other hand you still want to keep the friendship

you need to be honest with him,, tell him exactly how you feel and tell him to listen to what you are telling him,,,,
if he doesn't get it spell it out for him,.,
we can be friends only ,,nothing more nothing less

just tell him that you already ve got boyfriend or do tell him that you like someone else..good luck
