The world will go on, in some form or another. It's humanity needs saving, from itself. That seems unlikely - but all it needs is a "critical mass" of ordinary human beings devoted to doing what they can to shift our "leaders". It's developing. In a recent poll in Australia two-thirds voted climate change the biggest issue in the world, above terrorism etc. Now, if we could have figures like that in USA, and they all wrote letters to their political representatives - we might get a startling shift. Sudden social change has occured previously in history. But now it needs to be very soon before current observable secondary shifts in global eco-system start self-reinforcing changes we can do nothing about - but there's a fighting chance. What more can we ask? Yours is a good question, to begin.

Well first we'd have to control population growth and allow the number to come way back down to what it was about 300 years ago, about a quarter of what it is now. Then I would have no political borders and cities would be built according to water shelves. Infrastructure would be run by a central world government. There would be no currency, but people would have several different strata they could chose to qualify for. For those who are more ambitious and competitive there would be the positions of power in government or research, and for those who prefer to sit around and do nothing, there would be a much more simple existance doing the remedial things like working in restaurants or picking up garbage. Most people would probably be teachers and factory workers and farmers. Farming practices would be a mirror image of what they are today in Switzerland. We would worship mother earth and do everything in our power to protect her. We would burn no fossil fuels except when needed for transport of goods across the oceans or in emergencies. All people would have the same vacation time, 6 weeks per year. People who chose not to participate in society would be free to leave, but would forgo the benefits. Education would be required for all through the age of 16 and then they could chose to do an apprenticeship or go on to University. If you had a clean slate, no preconceived ways of the way anything was, just a community of people who believed this, they could successfully pass it on to future generations.

Don't mean to sound pessimistic, but man will never save the world. I think man's history on earth has borne this out. There will be a perfect, peaceful world some day, but it won't be until the Prince of Peace returns.

To save the Earth? I would move all the people off of it, send them to the cosmos.
To save the world, as we know it, we would have to be returned to the stone age. Only the strongest survive, everyone has an equal chance in nature. The corrupt are dealt with violently and quickly. The leader is truly the strongest member of the tribe and everyone pulls their weight equally and knows their role in the tribe. There is no greed, all goods, the essentials, food and water and clothing are distibuted as needed throughout the tribe. You don't pull your weight, you starve or you freeze. The tribe takes care of and respects the elderly and the handicapped. Yeah we'd have to go back in time to survive in the future.

I do not think that it can as perhaps perfection does not exist. It may have some being, but such a state will not come to fruition i think. There will be at least one person who has a conflicting view of what the world should be.

Go back to the basics. Everyone is trying to be better than everyone else. The world is mostly living in the "ME" era. It's time to get back to the "WE" era.
